Software Billing System Test Specialist (8 month contract)
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience testing software in large-scale usage based billing systems, e-commerce portals, customer service applications
- Experience with UNIX based O/S's (Linux preferred)
- Excellent working knowledge of web applications, client-server and GUI
- Hands on experience with database architectures and SQL queries (preferably MySQL)
- Post Secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience
- Automated testing experience using scripting languages like Tcl/Tk, Expect or Perl
- Sajus billing software experience beneficial
- Experience with context-driven test methodologies an asset
Responsibilities:
- Work with a supportive and dynamic test team to test and assess quality for innovative web applications in fast paced environment
- Plan and recommend efficient approaches for testing web applications (usage based billing systems, e-commerce portals, customer service applications)
- Assess risks, plan mitigation measures and execute on these measures
- Generate creative solutions to complex testing problems
- Plan, design and execute tests using manual, automated methods and testing tools, particularly with exploratory and context driven methodologies
- Accurately document, summarize and present test results
- Analyze logs and results from database queries to determine root cause of problems
- Work closely with a diverse team of device, server, and client developers, product managers
- Flowcharting processes based on requirements and analysis
- Have fun while doing what it takes to meet delivery dates and commitments
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities
