April is “National Distracted Driving Awareness” month because driving safer, smarter and greener is at the heart of everything we do.
In the United States over 500,000 people are injured in accidents caused by distracted drivers in an average year. In Canada, the numbers are as alarming with studies showing that 8 out of 10 drivers are distracted while driving. These are just two reasons why IMS is a big supporter National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
But being aware for one month is not enough. We encourage all drivers to be mindful of the risks of distracted driving all year long. In fact a key principle of everything we do at IMS is to keep drivers safe as a short glance at our products and services will show you.
