Who we are searching for:
Based in the Chicago, US area,you are a solid leader with a proven track record of successfully identifying, creating, and securing new business development opportunities within the automotive OEM industry. Reporting to our COO, you will be responsible for penetrating, engaging, and building strategic relationships with new OEM partners and related organizations that will benefit from IMS’ products, solutions, and services. Working closely with stakeholders, you will provide the leadership necessary to secure strategic opportunities and build strong mutually beneficial relationships between IMS and key partners in the automotive OEM industry.
Your role at IMS:
- Manage strategic opportunities in the automotive OEM business segment for the entire product portfolio
- Justify marketing and sales initiatives with clear goals and leadership
- Identify new business models and partnerships in the OEM automotive space
- Provide strong leadership to maintain and advance IMS’ reputation across the entire OEM ecosystem, from automotive manufacturers to tier-1/2 suppliers, service providers, aftermarket systems, and related organizations
- Lead OEM business relationships, including negotiations during major RFPs and RFQs
- Promote IMS’ solutions – articulate and educate external groups where appropriate for newly created product categories and paradigm-shifting concepts
- Work closely with governments and key external stakeholders to support the long-term success of IMS and its partners in the automotive space
Skills you bring to IMS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business field
- 10+ years experience developing and successfully following through with new business opportunities in the automotive OEM space
- Experience creating new business opportunities in automotive software applications, operating systems and/or electronics and hardware
- Strong influencing and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused perspective
- Demonstrated success with concise business negotiations and solid financial justifications
- Professional, high quality written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in German an asset
- Experience identifying mutually beneficial revenue-generating opportunities
- Experience working within tight confidentiality bounds, including handling highly confidential concepts and information from both internal and external sources
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams during the successful creation and delivery of new products and solutions, including legal, product management, sales, and marketing
